6
Q

lack of mitochondria in red blood cells because..?

A

Mitochondria releases energy. If they have mitochondria, the red blood cells will then use up the oxygen it is carrying and thus it will be used up by the cell instead.

Q

Why animal cells have no cell wall

A
  • cell wall provide rigid structure
  • animals need to move around
  • cell wall will restrict their movement, cause them to be unable to move/move well

Q

why red-blood cells have bi-concaved shape?

A

INCREASE surface area for haemoglobin to react and bind with MORE oxygen, to carry MORE oxygen to different parts of the body
