What is the function of the red blood cell?
It allows oxygen to diffuse into other cells

It cleans your lungs
What is the function of the root hair cell?
It absorbs water
What is the function of the leaf palisade cell?
It allows photosynthesis to take place
What is a cell?
The basic functional and structural unit of life
What is a tissue?
A group of cells that all have a similar function
What is an organ?
The things inside our body that keeps us alive
What does the stomach do?
Holds and breaks down food
What does the mouth do?
The teeth break down food and enzymes start the chemical digestion
What does the esophagus do?
Carries food from the mouth into the stomach using peristalsis
What does the liver do?
Secretes bile which is involved in digesting fat
What does the gall-bladder do?
Stores bile produced in the liver
What does the pancreas do?
Secretes enzymes to break down fat and carbohydrates and proteins
What does the small intestine do?
Secretes enzymes and absorbs nutrients into bloodstream
What does the large intestine do?
It absorbs water and is 6ft long!
What does the rectum do?
This is where waste is stored. It also tells the brain when a store is passed
