Q

Manipulation of polycarboxylate?

A

-using cooled slab(increasing working time)
-mixing should be done within 30-40 second
-the liquid should not be dispensed until just prior to the time of mixing (to avoid evaporation of water)

Q

Wich type of bonding in :-
1-polycarboxylate cement
2-glass ionomer cement

A

1-chemical adhesion to enamel and dentin wich carboxylate groups chelate with calcium in dentin and enamel
2-ionic interaction with calcium and phosphate from the surface of enamel and dentin
