2) To carry passengers a pilot must have completed three takeoffs and landings as the sole manipulator of the controls within the pas 90 days.
What class medial certificate is required for commercial privileges?
At least a second class medical.
Is a commercial pilot required to log all flight time?
No, only flights pertaining to training, currency, etc.
When can you log flight time as night time?
“Night” is defined as the time between the end of evening civil twilight and the beginning of morning civil twilight.
Can a commercial pilot carry passengers in formation flight?
No, as per CFR 91.111
Can a pilot with a commercial certificate and multi engine rating carry passengers in a single engine airplane?
No, unless the pilot holds a category, class, and type rating that applies to that aircraft.
What is an aircraft category?
A broad classification of aircraft; ie airplane, rotorcraft, glider, etc.
What is an aircraft class?
Aircraft having similar operating characteristics; ie single engine land, multi engine land, single engine sea, etc.
What is an aircraft type?
A specific make or model; ie DC-6, G-44, B-737, etc.
What is the definition of a complex aircraft?
An aircraft having retractable landing gear, flaps, and a controllable pitch propeller.
To act as PIC of a high performance aircraft what must be done?
(200 horsepower aircraft)
1) Received and logged time in such a plane from an authorized instructor.
2) Been found proficient in the operation and systems of the A/C.
3) Received a one time endorsement from an authorized instructor stating you have been found proficient.
