Passed under Taft in 1909, increased tariffs on some imported goods, Taft says that it was one of the best bills passed ever which was unliked by TR
Ballinger-Pinchot Quarrel
1910, Ballinger is the Secretary of the Interior and he opens up Western lands in Wyoming, Montana, and Alaska for corporate development. Gifford Pinchot, a conservationist, criticizes Ballinger, and Taft dismisses Pinchot for subordination. Taft is greatly criticized by conservationists like TR
Hetch Hetchy Valley
1913, in Yosemite National Park, beautiful forestry, massive loss for conservationists when the San Francisco gov’t is authorized to build a dam for San Francisco’s water supply. Preservationists of the Sierra Club like John Muir don’t want, but other conservationists wanted to actually use nature’s resources, just sustainably

1908, SCOTUS ruling that women should be given protections in the workplace because they are physically weaker, restricted some women from getting jobs but was a big win for workplace regulation over the existing law
