19
Q

Crista galli

A

Shark tale inside the anterior side of the skull

20
Q

Cribform plate

A

Around the shark tale

21
Q

Perpendicular plate

A

Forms part of nasal septum with a piece of hyaline cartilage (Large T)

22
Q

Superior nasal conchae

A

Middle nasal conchae :delicate projection of lateral masses

23
Q

Sphenoid bone

A

Forms part of floor cranium ,unites cranial & facial bones

24
Sella turcica
(Turkish saddle) bony saddled-shaped enclosure on superior surface of the body
25
Zygomatic bone
Forms prominent part of cheek & outer side of eye
26
Temporal process
Curves posteriorly to meet zygo process of temporal bone
27
Nasal bone
Support bridge of nose (superior)
28
Lacrimal bone
Form part of medial wall of orbit
29
Vomer bone
Forms inferior portion of bony nasal septum
30
Maxilla bone
(Upper jawbones) support upper teeth & form inferior orbital rim
31
Inferior nasal bone
Creates turbulence in air passing trirough nasal cavity
32
Palatine bone
Form posterior portion of the hard plate
33
Mandible
Forms the lower jaw
34
Ramus
The ascending part that begins at the mandibular angle
35
Coronoid process of the mandible
Insertion part of the temporalis muscle
36
Angle of mandible
A posterior boarder of the junction of the lower boarder of ramus
37
Mandibular condyle
Articulates with temporal bone at temporomandibular joint
38
Mental Foramen
Passageway for blood vessels & nerves
39
What bones make up that nasal cavity?
Frontal bone, sphenoid/ethrnoid for superior wall. Lateral walls are formed by maxillaed/lacrimal bones. Soft nose tissue form anterior margin
40
What bones contain paranasal sinuses?
Spheroid ,ethmoid frontal bone & paired ; lightens the skull bones & provides an extensive area of muscular epithelium (release muscus)
41
What is the function of the conchae?
Increases air flowing turbulence through nasal cavity, helps trap airborne particles
42
Anterior frontanel
"Soft blood" for infants ,pulses at heart beat, made of fibrous connective tissue & covers major blood cells
43
Posterior frontanelle
A gap between bones in the human skull
