Sara leaves for school at 7:30. She needs 45 minutes to get ready. What time does she need to get up?
There is 60 minutes in an hour. If she leaves at 7:30 we can subtract 30 minutes - making it 7:00 Sara still needs another 15 minutes to get ready. (45-30=15) Subtract 60 minutes from 7:00 making it 6:00. 60-15=45 minutes. Now add the 45 min to the 6:00. Sara needs to wake up at 6:45 to be ready to leave for school at 7:30
