Q

How reliable is overseas secondary data as compared to the U.S.?

Q

What are some of the issues you should take into consideration when comparing secondary data from one country with data from another country?

A

Great variation from one country to another
- consider time bases (time intervals differ)
- category breakdowns
- dates of studies
- methodology
MUST ask: who collected the data + for what? When/how, expected accuracy + consistency w other sources

16
Q

What is definition error?

A

how do you define something

17
Q

What is non response error

A

People selected to be interviewed either refuse to cooperate or cannot be reached

18
Q

What is frame error

A

sample drawn from the population DOES NOT include the target population
(ex: phone book foes not represent total population bc not everyone had a phone)

19
Q

What is random error

A

Selected sample is an IMPERFECT representation of the overall population
Different results will be obtained when sampling 2 different random samples 2 different ways

20
Q

What is frame

A

included the database that has the info on the population you want to measure
