What are the 11 organ systems?
Integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, lymphatic, digestive, urinary, reproductive
What are the main responsibilities of the integumentary system?
- To provide protection (1)
- regulate water loss
- regulate body temperature
- help produce vitamin D
(1) for example the skin protects us from uv radiation
it also protects us from physical damage to tissue beneath the skin, chemical damage, and so on
Which system is made of the skin, hair, nails,sebaceous glands, and sweat glands?
The Integumentary System
Sebaceous glands are an organ in your skin that make and secrete sebum. Sebum is a substance that provides a protective coating for your skin to help it retain moisture. Most of your sebaceous glands connect to your hair follicles.
