A

What are the 8 bones of the cranium?

A

•occipital x1 back lower above nape
•parietal x2 (think “pair”) sides and crown
•frontal x1 forehead
•temporal x2 (think “timpano” sides of head in ear region)
•ethmoid x1 between eye socket forms part of nasal cavity
•sphenoidx1 (sides of eye sockets)

Ethmoid & sphenoid not affected by services.

•zygomatic x2 aka malar or cheek bones
•vomer x1 center bottom of nose above maxillae
•palatine x2 roof of mouth
•maxillae x2 upper jaw
•mandible x1 largest and strongest of the face
