A
- external cause or origin
- e.g. links to other places
- represent flow of people, money or ideas
- e.g. large numbers of South-Asian migrants in Manchester have created ‘the curry mile’

why may some people resist change of place
A
- place is defined as a location with meaning, either near or far
- e.g. in Sheffield, changed due to a decline in steel industry leading to less jobs
- can lead to poverty and unemployment
- people may wish for place to return to how it was before as they believe it was better
