Definition of CPR
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency aid procedure that involves a combination of chest compressions and breathing into the mouth of the victim to restore their heartbeat and breathing

CPR procedure
- Check the victim’s response
- Open the airway
- 30 Chest compressions
- 2 Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation
- Repeat chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation

Importance of CPR
- Restores victim’s blood circulatory system
- Maintain supply of oxygen to victim
2.2 Heimlich Manoeuvre
Definition of Heimlich Manoeuvre
Heimlich Manoeuvre is an emergency procedure that is carried out to save an individual whos choking
(choking is when respiratory tract is blocked by food or foreign objects)
2.2 Heimlich Manoeuvre
Victim’s situation that requires the Heimlich Manoeuvre
- Holding their neck with both hands
- Unable to talk or cough
- Difficulty in breathing
- Skin, lips and nails appear bluish or blackish

Importance of the Heimlich Manoeuvre
- Clears the blockage in the victim’s airway
- Restores supple of oxygen to victim’s lungs
- Prevents brain damage or death of the victim
2.2 Heimlich Manoeuvre
Heimlich Manoeuvre procedure
- Stand behind the victim and bend his body slightly forward
- Put your arms around the victim from behind and clench a fist with your right hand.
- Place your right fist between the navel and below the ribs of the victim. Place your left hand on top of your right fist.
- Press and jerk upwards with quick force. The pressure given will increase pressure in the lungs, causing the foreign object to be ejected

What to do when ur choking but ur alone
- Place your right fist between the navel and below the ribS . Place your left hand on top of your right fist.
- Look for an object that is the height of ur waist (chair).
- Bend your body over the chair/table and push as hard as u can until u are able to dislodge the object stuck in ur airway
