The Cabinet

A
  • the supreme decision making body in government
  • every Tuesday, members of cabinet meet in the Cabinet room (10 Downing Street) to discuss the big issues of the dat.
  • The prime minister chairs the meeting, select its members and also recommends their appointment as ministers by the Monarch
  • Senior cabinet positions are appointed by the PM (the most senior members are the Deputy prime minister, foreign secretary, chancellor of the Exchequer and Home Secretary)
  • The decisions taken their become government policy, if supported in the HoC.
