Long-term care ( LTC)
24 hour skilled care

is 24 hour skilled care given in hospitals ad ambulatory surgical centers. It is for people who require short term , intermediate care.
subacute care
for people who need less care than for an acute illness, but more care than a chronic illness
outpatient care
People who have had treatments , procedures , or surgeries s and need short term killed care. They do not stay the night.
Rehabilitation
Physical , occupational , and speech therapist help restore or improve function after an illness or injury.
Hospice care
6 moths or less to live given at hospitals or home
ADLs
Activates of daily living
Medicare
federal health insurance for people over 65 and who have kidney failure or
Medicaid
medical assistance funded by state and federal , for people with low income or disabilities
charting
noting and recording important information about the resident
care plan
plan to help achieve the goals of care and meet the resident’s specific needs
Policy
is a course of action that should be taken every time a certain situation occurs
Procedure
a method , or way , of doing something. example facility has a procedure for reporting information about residents .Explains how to report and who to give it to .
Tactful
showing sensitivity and having a sense of what is appropriate when dealing with others
