Subacute care
Care given in hp, Lt facilities. Longer term than Acture.
Outpatient care
Care given less than 24hr.
Rehabilitation
Care given by specialist.
Hospice care
Care given to pt who have less then 6 months to leave
Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs)
Required that participants use particular doctor or a group of doctors except in ER.
Preferred provider organizations (PPOs)
Network of providers that contract to provide health services to a group of people.
Managed care
Caring for people in the most cost effective possible
Catheters
Tubings inserted in the body to drain/ insert fluids.
Policy
Course of action that should be taken every time a certain situation occurs.
Procedures
A method, or way, of doing something.
Cite
To find a problem through a survey.
Joint Commission
Independent not for profit organization that evaluates and accredits healthcare organizations.
