What is the difference between a light and an electron microscope?

A

ELECTRON MICROSCOPE

  • Can be used down to nanometre scale
  • Large and expensive
  • Complicated to use
  • Samples need ro be prepared and dead
  • Cannot produce colored image
  • SEM(scanning) and TEM(transmission)
  • Have a higher resolution(the ability to differentiate between two separate objects or points)
