Q

What difference between Pressure generator and Flow generator?

A

-Pressure generator:
The ventilator produces inspiration by generating constant and predetermined pressure. By bellow or a moderate weight produce the pressure. b) Flow -Flow generator:
The ventilator produces inspiration by delivered predetermined flow of gas. By a piston ,heavy weight or compressed gas produce the flow.

Q

Type of ventilator depends on 3 function is ?

A

a)Minute volume divider: fresh gas flow powers the ventilators
b)Bag squeezer :replace the hand of ventilation of MaplesonD or circle system.
c)Lightweight portable: powered by compressed gas and consists of control unit and patient valve.

17
Q

What the Characteristics of ideal ventilation?

A

1- Simple, portable, robust, economical to purchase and use
2- It should be versatile ,supply tidal volume up to 1500ml,with respiratory rate up to 60\min. It can deliver any gas or vapour mixture. The addition of PEEP should be possible.
3- It should be monitor the airway pressure, inspired and exhaled minute, TV,RR and inspired oxygen concentration
4- There should be facilities to provide humidification and drugs can be nebulized.
5- Disconnection ,high airway pressure, power failure alarm should be present.
6- There should be facility to provide other ventilator modes.
7- easy to clean and sterilize.
