Can firefighters turn off gas and electricity to a house or building?
yes we can but not completely. we can shut off the main breaker and valve. it will never fully be off until the city turns it off from the street to the house but we shut off from right up to the house and the whole house. NEVER EVER EVER turn it back on after the fires out. house will go boom.

do you need to wear full ppe to a car fire. need to wear a mask?
yes, cars generate a wide variety of toxic smoke and vapor’s. treat it as a structure fire

isolate the vehicle from any ignition source. key fob

where do you position yourself at a vehicle fire attack? where do you attack from?
position hose line between burning vehicle and exposures position uphill and upwind of the fire attack at a 45-degree angle

type d most of the time. burning metals

how does class d extinguisher work? what does it look like
like sand or powder. extinguishes metals. smothers it let it burn because metal fires are impossible to put out

direct attack bank of the ground through the hood and aim down
