Two divisions or sects within Islam that have different views on the succession of caliphs. Shites believe in direct descendants of Muhammad
Islam and Hinduism differences
Islam: -one sacred book (Quran)
- One God (monotheistic)
- Believers do not make statues of God
- All believers are equal before God
Hinduism: -Many sacred books
- Many Gods and goddesses (polytheistic)
- Believers pray before statues of gods and gOddesses
- People of different castes are not equal

The Islamic people have been able to combine religion and a way of life through the basic duties included of the five pillars of Islam. ¥. The Muslims consider the Quran a complete guide to life and final authority to all matters. ¥. The Islamic system of law, the Sharia, has laws that regulate government, family, and community and is based on the Quran. ¥. Women are spiritual equal but their rights are limited in worldly affairs. ¥. Finally, the Arabic language was used for both the Quran and and Sharia so that it could help unite the Muslims from many regions
