Anxiety disorders

Panic disorder
an anxiety disorder characterized by episodes of intense fear and dread that usually occur suddenly and unexpectedly
Agoraphobia
Acute anxiety in situations where it is perceived to be difficult or embarrassing to escape, generally public settings or wide-open places
Specific phobias
psychological disorders characterized by strong irrational fears of specific objects or situations
Social anxiety disorder
an anxiety disorder involving intense fear of being humiliated in the presence of others
Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
an anxiety disorder characterized by a constant state of moderate anxiety
Obsessive-Compulsive disorder (OCD)
an anxiety disorder characterized by persistent, unwanted, and distressing actions and/or thoughts
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
an axiety disorder characterized by flashbacks and recurrent thoughts of life-threatening or other traumatic events
Mood disorder
a psychological disorder characterized by emotional extremes that cause significant disruption in daily functioning
Major depressive disorder
A mood disorder characterized by extreme and persistent negative moods and the inability to experience pleasure from activities previously enjoyed
Dysthymia
Chronic low-level depression lasting more than two years
bipolar disorder
a mood disorder characterized by swings between emotional extremes of mania and depression
Seasonal affective disorder (SAD)
a subtype of depression characterized by depressive symptoms during the winter months, when daylight hour are reduced
