Who is the bicameral parliament?
The Australian Federal Parliment is called a bicameral parliament because it has two houses.
What is a day in parliament?
Parliament sits for about 18 to 20 weeks each year.
How do the two houses work together?
Both the senate and the house of representatives are almost equal partners. Both houses must agree before new bills become laws. If the bill is passed the governor general signs the bill and it becomes a law. This procces is called the royal asset
What is referring to people?
A referendum is a vote by eligible voters on a question.. I majority of people vote yes then that part of the constitution can be changed this is called the double majority.
Referendums in Australia?
The first referendums was held in 1906 and Australia has since held 43 referendums.
