This chapter talks about the programs started by Pres. Roosevelt called the New Deal. it states that this helped lift the country out of depression. this is a common belief, but is wrong. Why do you think it is wrong?

A

Anytime the government spends money taken from the people instead of letting people keep their money & spend it themselves, it is bad. The government wastes a lot of that money, but people wouldn’t do that. It has been proven that the country would have come out of the depression a lot sooner if the government had simply done nothing & left people alone.
