Define magnetic domain.
A
A region inside a magnet that contains billions of atoms and each atom behaves like a small magnet.

Define hysteresis
A
The tendency of a material to maintain its magnetic properties.

Define curie temperature.
A
A maximum temperature at which materials lose their magnetic characteristics.

What are the properties of magnetic fields?
A
- invisible (effect on MF can be observed).
- three dimensional.
- non-contact repulsion or attraction force.
- direction always from the north pole to the south pole.
- the denser the magnetic field, the stronger the magnetic(densest at the poles, therefore strongest at the poles).

A
The new pieces generate their own north and south poles.
