sorceress; Aeetes daughter; part of Hera’s plan to destroy Pelias; fell in love with Jason; helped Jason defeat bulls by giving him special ointment; helped Jason get fleece; helped Jason kill her brother
Apsyrtus
Medea’s brother; Aeetes had him guide a fleet to attack Jason; lured into trap by Medea and killed
Talus
Bronze Giant; given to Europa by Zeus; had single vein of ichor in ankle; threw rocks at passing ships; Medea used evil eye so plug holding his ichor would dislodged; weakened he fell from cliff into sea

district north of entrance to Gulf of Corinth

capital of Calydon; king was Oeneus
Meleager
son of Althaea and Oeneus; one of his children was one in seven against Thebes; would die if log burned so mom hid it in a chest in secret; killed mother’s brothers; mother burnt log to kill son in grief for revenge
Atalanta
famous female athlete helping defeat Calydonian Boar; Meleager found her attractive; challenge men to foot race and let them get a lead and stab them; hung their heads from spears; Melanion was able to beat her and wed her with help from Aphrodite
