Q

How is PZT made?

A

Ceramic is heated above its Curie temperature (>365 degrees) - allows crystals to move
- a voltage is then applied, causing polarization
- crystal is then cooled

Q

What is a transducer’s resonant frequency?

A

The frequency at which a transducer is most efficient
- determined mainly by the thickness of the PZT element
