EFB Charging
- 50% charge prior to Engine Start
- Device is removed from charging prior to IAP in IMC or when device is fully charged
Flight Time Limits
- 10 hours in any 24 hr period
- 500hrs in any quarter
- 800hrs in 2 consecutive quarters
- 1400hrs in a calendar year
Low Time Pilot Restriction
( < 75 hrs in type )
- 91 - no restrictions
- 91K - 1 pilot must have 75hrs in type
- 135 - No approved WX at destination or DAAP is used then 1 pilot must have at least 75 hrs in type.
High Mins PIC Restrictions
- 91/91K - T/O mins As published.
Add 100-1/2 to Approach Mins - 135 - T/O ≥ Lowest Straight-In approach mins or 1SM whichever is higher.
Add 100-1/2 to Approach Mins
Low Time SIC
( < 100hrs )
T/O and Landings prohibited if:
- Visibility ≤ 3/4sm or RVR ≤ 4000
- Crosswind > 15 kts
- LLWS reported in the vicinty
- Contaminated runway
- DAAP is used
Destination Weather
( Part 135)
Part 135 - Can only be released if destination weather reports or forecast are ≥ IFR landing mins at ETA.
- METAR can be disregarded if ETE is > 1 hr
Destination VFR airport requirements
- Alternate is designated with approved WX and an IAP
- Part 135 - flight plan specifies a fix prior to Destination from which flight can proceed VMC.
Night Landing Requirements
One of the following is required:
- VASI / PAPI
- Straight-In IAP ( TAWS required if approach NOT to a DA )
- FMS generated glidepath if approved by Ops
T/O Alternate
- required if WX is below IFR landing minimums
- T/O alternate has to be within 1hr at normal cruise
- WX requirements the same as destination alternate.
Destination Alternate
( 91/91K)
- No IAP
- No approved WX source
- -FZRA, FZDZ, FZFG
- Forecast < 2000/3
- Destination is in Canada
Destination Alternate
( Part 135 )
- No IAP
- No approved WX source
- -FZRA, FZDZ, FZFG
- Destination in Canada
- Forecast < lowest circling HAA +1500’.
Only staright-in, 2000’ or lowest HAT +1500’ whichever is greater.
< 3sm or lowest mins of app used +2sm, whichever is greater.
Alternate Airport Requirements
( Part 91/91K/135 )
- Part 91- as published
- Part 91K/135 - 1 IAP, add 400-1.
2 straight -in suitable IAP, add 200-1/2 to higher mins - If destination has -FZRA, FZDZ, FZFG the Alternate can not
- Multiple GPS approaches only count as 1
Fuel Requirements
Includes:
- start, taxi, APU use (TXO fuel)
- T/O, climb, cruise, descent, approach, and landing
- fuel to alternate (if required)
- 45min reserve fuel
- Ballast fuel (if required)
- Contingency fuel (XTR) 30 min or 10% of trip fuel whichever is greater.
DAAP restrictions
- Neither pilot has 75 hrs in type
- Runway is contaminated
- Braking action less than good
- Any component is inop that adversely affects landing performance
- Night, unless edge lights and GP or VASI/PAPI
Visibility < 3/4 or < 4000 RVR
Part 135
Use WET runway numbers for additional 15% adjustment
Precision runway markings or centerline lights must be operational.
RVSM Altitudes
FL290 - FL410 inclusive
Additional coordination for Flight Release
Coordinate with FODM:
- exception to min runway length/ width
- Special Ferry Permit
- NRFO
- Feasibility indicates special briefing required
- medically debilitated pax or human remains
- 91/91K dest or alternate conditional forecast below mins
- Winter wx advisory area and carbon brakes
