What are some of the features of the territory conquered by Rome?
The Romans built around peninsulas and they built farther out to the east. They moved onto islands and they took over deserts. They took over many countries in Eastern Asia.
How did Rome get all of its land?
The Romans started building its empire in Italy. They battled rivals for control of the peninsula. They took over North Africa, Spain,Gaul,Greece, and lands at the eastern end of the Mediterranean.
What is an aqueduct?
An aqueduct is a long waterway built on mountainsides used to get water to the city.
What was the significance of the Roman arches and it’s design
The arches were locked together using a keystone. The keystone is used to lock the structure and stop it from falling.
What are the importance of Roman roads?
The Roman roads helped many merchants and travelers move throughout Rome. The roads also stood as battlegrounds for the Roman army.
What is a Roman Republic?
The Roman republic was the first republic. They built democratic principles into a republic. They elected representatives to carry out their wishes in the government.
What are the importance of the first Roman laws?
The Romans made a contribution to modern government when they came up with the first written laws. They defined people’s responsibilities and rights.
What are the similarities and differences between Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great?
Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar both fought for their country. Julius Caesar took over power in the Roman government.
What are the differences between primary and secondary sources?
A primary source is coming from a personal experience. A secondary source is usually told by a person who did not see the event.
What is definition of polytheistic?
Polytheistic means worshipping more than one god. Greeks and Romans believed in polytheism.
What is the definition of monotheistic?
Monotheistic is worshipping only on god. Christianity is an example of monotheism.
What was the significance of the 10 Commandments?
They guided the lives of the Jews. They were moral and religious laws. They forbid many crimes like stealing, lying, cheating, and murder
What were the significance of the Gospels?
The Gospels are the sources for Christianity
Where did Christianity spread?
The religion spread throughout Asia and Northern Africa. It also spread through Europe.
What caused the fall of Rome?
The empire became so large than they could no longer provide leadership. They lost territory through their empire.
What is a legion?
An army force with about 6,000 men.
