How does ATP release energy?
A
ATP + (H2O) -> ADP + Pi + (Energy)
The bond on the last phosphate is broken, releasing energy.
This is a hydrolysis reaction.
This uses the enzyme ATPase.

A
The bonds between the three phosphate groups have low activation energy so they break easily and release a lot of energy.

A
1 ribose, 1 adenine and 3 inorganic phosphates

Active transport, homeostasis, movement, growth, repair and maintenance of cells, producing substrates and secretion of different substances
