A

Are used to enter texts into the device by typing into word-processing documents.

+The text that you write on the keyboards appears on the screen
-It is a slow method of introducing long texts.

Use of numeric keypads?

A

Numeric keypads are used when you enter numeric data into the device, they most used when introduce a PIN

+ They are easier to transport and it is smaller than a keyboard.
- Numeric keypads have small keys so its harder for some people to write the code.

What is the use of Pointing devices?

A

Pointing devices are needed to make selections on your screen. Examples of this are:

Mouse’s: Mouses are used for to point on the screen of any PC
+ Enables rapid navigation through an application or web site.
- Hard to use if the user has a limited wrist or finger movement.

Touch pad’s: Touch pads are used to point on the screen on a laptop.
+ There is no extra hardware to take as the touch pad is incorporated onto the laptop
- Hard to use if the user has a limited wrist or finger movement.

Trackerball’s: These are like mouses but you scroll with your palm over the ball
+ Easier to use than a mouse for the people that has wrists or finger problems.
- The cost, as they are not used much so it is not incorporated to the computer’s price.

Remote controls?

A

Remote controls are input devices. These are used for tv’s, video players, reproducers…

+ Can control devices safetly from a distance.
- Remote controls uses infrared signals for to change channel… If an object blocks the infrared signal to the tv, the remote wont work.
