What is work-life balance?
Correctly prioritising work (career and ambition) with lifestyle (health, leisure, family and pleasure)

Staffing: -recruit and select staff for the organisation and/or planned projects

Evaluating: - use appropriate ‘close the loop’ techniques to evaluate targets, goals and project outcomes.

How can work-life balance be achieved?
Work-life balance is achieved when people focus on remaining healthy by balancing the demands of work with the needs of their personal lives.
What is the recruitment process?

- interview potential candidates
- select and make an offer to the best candidate
- induct the new employee
Why is it important for a business to recruit the right staff?
Employees are an extremely important asset to a business and in most case will be the business greatest cost. Therefore hiring the wrong people will cost the business money and time.
Explain in depth one mode of employment.
Full time: full time work is regular and ongoing work where employees typically work 38-40 hours a week. Employees are entitled to leave benefits such as annual, sick, personal and long-service leave.
What is a performance appraisal?
A performance appraisal, also known as a performance review, is the process used by management and supervisors to examine an individual’s on-the-job performance on relation to individual, team an business goals.
What is the purpose of a performance appraisal?
They provide an opportunity for staff to discuss with their supervisor possible career directions, opportunities for self development over the next performance period and negotiate salaries or promotions. It is also an opportunity for mangers to raise concerns about employees poor work performance or underperformance of duties.
Why should there be office etiquette in a workplace?
Office etiquette is essential in a business as it help employees work together better and results in a happier work environment.
What are some types if unethical behaviour?
- lying or covering for a colleague
- falsifying records
- favouritism
- bad language
- revealing or casual clothing
- wasting resources
- disrespectful behaviour
How can a business get staff to follow ethical behaviour?
Have a code of ethics in place as well as guide lines for office etiquette.
What is redundancy?
Redundancy occurs when an organisation no longer requires a person to perform the duties attached to a particular position, or the duties can be allocated to other employees.
What is redeployment?
A redeployment policy make provision to provide excess employees with continued employment elsewhere with and organisation.
What is internal promotion?
Internal promotion is gaining a promotion within the restructured organisation.
What is office etiquette?
Office etiquette is the fine line between what is ethical and what’s unethical in a business.
