A

United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child

This document sets out the rights that every child is entitled to.
These rights can be broadly grouped into four categories:

  • Survival Rights
  • Development Rights
  • Participation Rights
  • Protection Rights

A child is any person under the age of 18.
A convention is a document that is legally binding.
Ireland ratified this convention in 1992.
