A
stem cells can duplicate themselves many times and develop into many different types of cells.
Stem cells also reproduce themselves to repair tissues that have been damaged. Healthy stem cells may be used to generate new tissues, such as skin, for transplant. They may restore tissues, as in bone marrow transplants.
