-Al Gore- democrat 48.4%
-George W Bush- republican 47.9%

-In the electoral College, whoever won Florida would become President
-Machines couldn’t recount every ballots, so people had to count them one by one

-Bush stopped the wiretapping unless a warrant was issued by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court
