Chapter 26 Flashcards
(5 cards)
1
Q
Image Formation and the Eye
A
Cornea and lens of an eye act together to form images (through refraction) on the retina
Light rays passing through the cornea produce an inverted, real image on the retina
2
Q
Microscope
A
Made from 2 converging lenses
First image is the object for the second lens
Final image is INVERTED, MAGNIFIED, and FAR from the observer (eye focuses easier on distant objects)
3
Q
Telescope (Refracting)
A
Collects more light
1 converging lenses + 1 diverging lenses = UPRIGHT image
2 converging lenses = INVERSE image
4
Q
Combining Thin Lenses
A
M=M1xM2
5
Q
Spherical Aberrations (Convex)
A
REFLECTED RAYS intersect at different points on the principal axis
