To tell where people are going, use a form of the verb ir plus the preposition a, followed by a destination.
ex: Yo voy a la piscina. (I'm going to the pool)
***A common contraction in Spanish is a + el = al.
Ex: Y yo voy al parque. (And I'm going to the park.)
The preposition a (to) combines with the definite article el (the) to form the word al (to the)
