Comprehensive listening- listening to understand the message of the speaker.
Critical listening- listening to evaluate a message for purposes of excepting rejecting it.

Take listening seriously be an active listener resist distractions don't be diverted by appearance or delivery suspend judgment focus your listening
What does the books say about taking notes during speeches
Taking notes during speeches is good if done properly. Listen for keywords and key sentences.
Explain the difference in rate of speech with our brains ability to process
The difference between which most people talk (120 to 150 words a minute) in the rate at which the brain can process language (400 to 800 words a minute)
