What does resources and capabilities do in a organisation
They contribute to its long-term survival and potentially to competitive advantages.
Treshold resources
Those needed to meet the necessary requirements to compete at all in a given market
What is the hard part about threshold resources
They change over time and can be hard to identify but they are crucial to be able to compete
Distinctive resource and capabilities…..
Required to achieve competitive advantages, it become a advantage when the competitors cannot imitate this
What is VRIO about
It is about gaining and sustaining competitive advantages

Stand for value of resources and capabilities, create a product that gives value to the costumers
R in VRIO
Stands for rarity, example patented products or services that gives an advantage
I in VRIO
Stands for inimitability, that is resources and capabilitys that is hard or costly to imitate. The barrier depend on people and skill and they are complex
O in VRIO
Organisational support, to take fully advantages of the resources and capabilities of an organisation structure and management control
SWOT-analysis
The strength and weakness is internal and the opportunity and threat Is external
Dynamic capabilities
Organisations ability to renew and recreate their resources and capabilities to meet the needs of changing environments
