Q

What happens when work is done

A

When work is done, ENERGY IS TRANSFERRED TO A NEW ENERGY SOURCE

So like pick up a book, work done by you, so energy transferred from you chemically to hravationak store of book, let that go, energy transfer from grvstiosnl to kinetic snd it falls, it hit dm3 and energy transfeeered to sound and heat etc

Q

Remember about what distance / force you use

A

Work done = force x distance in direction of force

So make sure you use COMPONENT OF THE FIRCE IN THE SAMEDIRECTIOJ IT MOVED IN , might have to use trig

Q

Principle of conversation if energy

A

Energy can not be created or deteiryed into transferee form different mediums

The total energy in a fixed environment is cinstant

Q

If energy is not being showed because of being constant speed why is this

A

Because constant speed means constant kinetic energy so it’s not showed!

Q

What is gravational potential energy and how to derrive what assumption

A

The capacity for an object to work against a gravational field

The same as work done = force x distance in direction of force
- if you lift something up at constant speed so ke doesn’t change, work being done = fix d , where f is mg and d is height
So GPE= MGH

Assumption is higher you go, the GRAVATIOANL FIELD STAYS CONSTANT

Q

So skydiving loses height but at TERMINAL VELOCITY, what happening to energy

However what would happen if you weren’t at term yet?

A

This means goe decreases, but is converted to thermal store of surrounding because ke is constant due to velocity being terminak

Weren’t at term = how is converted to ke

Q

How to deter Koje how fast something hits the ground, assuming no RESISITVE FORCES ACT ON IT (and why’

What does this means and why does this make sensne

A

If no resistive firces act upon it, you know that the GOE will convert to KE

Thus 1/2mv2= GMH
And 1/2v2=GH
V = square root 2GH

This means that the MASS has no involvement in how fast it hits, just height really

Which makes sense with no resistance free fall is the same for everyone !

Q

How to derrive equation for any body thst uses a constant force to move at a constant speed?

WHAT DITUAUTIN CNA YOU INKY USE THID IN

A

If constant force, means net force is 0 due to resisitve firces too, but constant velocity

P= WD/t
WD= f x S
FS/t
S/T= v

So power = FV (constant force x velocity it produces)

This is Used fir any bidy thst needs a constant force for consigns to velocity
