anti-Semitism
unfounded prejudice against the Jewish people

the 71 member supreme legislative and judicial body of the Jewish people. Many of its members were Sadducees.
passion narratives
the name for the four separate accounts of the Passion of Christ. The passion narratives of the Synoptic Gospels follow a general literary and thematic plan. The passion narrative of John’s Gospel provides an independent version.
