Step 1: Formulate color ideas • Research: scientific and artistic approaches • Collect data – most sampled and request colors from the color service and mills • Observe: media, runways and streets, political, economic and lifestyle trends • Companies or events for color references: - Pantone inc. - Premiere vision - CAUS (Color association of the United States) Step 2: Develop a color story - Collect colors for the color story - Swatches of fabric - Yarns - Paint chips - Magazine clips - Items from nature - Colors from packaging - Select colors to represent the intended messages of the theme Step 3: Edit, interpret and analyze Step 4: Assign color names
