Q

Emotions can be seen to do a few things:

A
  • motivate our behaviour (& get us ready for action) - consider an urge like ‘fight-or-flight’ when fearful, or how you want to curl up in bed when feeling depressed
  • communicate to others how we feel - our facial expressions, tone & body language show the world how we are feeling, which influences how others feel
  • communicate to ourselves - gives us important information about a situation
