Mains aspects in the germinal stage?

A

Start of pregnancy

  • when fertilisation starts
    (When a sperm cell combines with an egg cell to form a zygote)
  • zygote travels down the fallopian tube and into the uterus
  • implantation process takes about a week to complete.
  • formation of the placenta begins

Main aspects in the embryonic stage?

A
  • cells continue to divide rapidly and start taking on specialised roles as the organs develop
  • developing baby is referred to as an embryo
  • neural tube starts to develop brain and spine
  • stops the mum from having her period
  • hearts begins to beat
  • blood cells are being made in the liver
  • facial features are forming
  • tiny muscles have formed
  • fingers and toes form

A
  • all body’s organs are formed but not all are functioning at this point
  • teeth are beginning to form
  • ears are fully functioning and foetus and hear outside the womb muffled noises tho
  • foetal takes in amniotic fluid
  • gender can be found
  • most of its time asleep
  • fat is laid under the skin to assist with adjusting to life outside the womb
  • foetus moves strongly
  • the lungs develop at a rapid rate during this time
