What motives caused the nations of Europe to engage in imperialist activities?
They wanted raw materials to fuel the growing industrial revolution. They also sought a vast new market for their products. Africa had both of these.
What was the Boer War and what effect did it have on Africans?
The war was between the boers and the British. It was started over Africa having good and silver in the south. It was also about political rights in which the boers lacked. Many served as soldiers or guards. Over 14,000 died in concentraition camps however.
