  1. Sensory memory is an initial stage that holds all incoming information for seconds or fractions of a second.
  2. Short-term memory (STM) holds five to seven items for about 15 to 20 seconds. We will describe the
    Long-term memory (LTM) can hold a large amount of information for years or even decades. We will describe long-term memory in Chapters 6, 7, and 8.

What is control process? Give examples

A

It is associated with structural features that can be controlled by a person and May differ from one thing to another.

Example: rehearseal → practicing something in short term over and over until it is in long term storage.
Any strategy you may use to store information, ex: periodic table to a song.
