phobias are uncontrollable,extreme, irrational and enduring fears that causes extreme levels of anxiety

may avoid something out of fear.
2) freeze response = unable to move when in presence of object.
3)Disruption of functioning= Interfere with daily life and functioning.

1) persistent,excessive fear - that result in high levels of anxiety due to anticipated fear of object/situation.
2) Fear from exposure to phobic stimulus attacks - panic attacks, generated when exposed to fear

1) recognition of exaggerated anxiety = (they understand that their anxiety level are overstated
