Safety belt
“Securely mounted , adjust and latches properly and is NOT ripped or frayed “
Emergency equipment
- 3 red reflective triangles
- 6 fuses
- ABC fire extinguisher, “properly charged and securely mounted “
Safe start
- Both valves pulled out
- Hold clutch down , put gear in NEUTRAL
- Turn key on position
- Let gauges reset
- START TRUCK , keep clutch down until engine reach idle speed
- “Abs will come on then off , if it stay on Abs needs to be serviced”
- Release clutch
All gauges
“Oil , temperature and air gauges are working properly “
- “Oil pressure gauge shows increasing to normal operating range and light should be off “
- “Temperature gauge should begin to climb to normal operating range and light should be off”
- “Air compressor build the air pressure to governor cut off at 120-140 psi”
4.”voltmeter guage show alternator charging at 12-14 volts , warning light is off “

- Left/right turn signal
- 4 way emergency flashers

- “Mirrors clean adjusted properly , NO OBSTRUCTIONS

Parking brake check
- Tractor brake check
- Trailer brake check
- Service brake check
- Air brake check
Tractor brake check
- Push RED valve in
- “ parking brake will hold the vehicle”
- gently pull forward
Trailer brake check
1.pull red valve out , push YELLOW valve
- “Trailer brake will hold vehicle”
- Gently pull forward
Service brake check
- Push BOTH valves in
- Pull forward
- “Vehicle shudnt pull left or right when brake applied, if they do brakes are out of adjustment”
Air brake check
- Run engine to build pressure to 120/140 psi
- Turn engine off
- Turn key to on position
4.both brakes released (pushed in)
- Hold foot brake down for 1 min
- “The air pressure must NOT drop MORE THAN 4 POUNDs in minute “
- Begin fanning
“ the low are warning light and buzzer should activate before pressure drop below 55 psi” - Continue fanning
“Both valves should pop activate at approximately 40 psi”
Outside vehicle
- Engine off
- key on
- turn on 4 way flashers and headlights
- Get out walk around check
Clearance lights ,
headlights taillights,
turn signals,
4way flashers,
brake lights,
red reflectors,
reflector tape condition- clean and functional - “ All external lights, reflective equipment are clean , functional and working, none broken or missing. Red on rear and amber elsewhere “
Engine compartment
- Leaks/hoses
- Oil level
- Coolant level
- Power steering fluid & pump
- Engine compartment belts
•power steering belt
•water pump
•alternator
•air compressor - Steering box/Hoses
- Steering linkage
Leaks/hoses
1.Look for puddles on the ground
- Inspect all hoses for conditions and leaks
Oil level
- Check dip stick
- “Oil level is within safe operating range , above refill mark”
Coolant level
- Inspect reservoir
- Coolant level is which safe operating range
Power steering fluid & pump
- Check dip stick
- Level is above the refill mark
- Gear driven
