Chemical reactions Flashcards
(8 cards)
How do we know when reactions happen?
A change in colour.
A new substance is made.
Change in temperature.
What is the difference between endothermic reactions and exothermic reactions?
Endothermic reactions will lower the temperature of their surroundings.
Exothermic reactions will raise the temperature of their surroundings.
What is the difference between a compound and an element?
A compound is made up of two or more substances while a element is made of one.
What is accuracy?
Accuracy is how close a measurement is of a true value.
What is precision?
Precision is whether two or more measurements are close to each other.
What does oxygen do when it meets with a burning splint?
The burning splint will relight.
What does hydrogen do when it meets with a burning splint?
It makes a squeaky pop with a lighted splint.
What does carbon dioxide do when it meets with a burning splint?
It turns a milky colour after adding lime water.
