A
  • Gastro-enteritis
  • Respiratory condition
  • Problems with feeding
  • Meningitis
  • Overexcited/nervous

Red flag symptoms

A
  • Systemically unwell with signs of infection or fever
  • Frequent vomiting for > 24-48 hours
  • Frequent regurgitation, failure to thrive, feeding/swallowing difficulties
  • Recurrent episodes of unexplained vomiting
  • Vomit is blood-stained or looks like ‘coffee grounds’
  • Dehydration signs

Non-pharmacological treatment

A
  • If your baby is vomiting, carry on breastfeeding or giving them milk feeds.
  • If they seem dehydrated, they will need extra fluids.
  • Children who don’t want to drink water, give them ice lollies.
