Elevation over 13.5k feet. Snow falls all year, even in the summer. Vegetation is made up of sparse scrubs and grasses. Weather is cold, and mountains make traveling difficult.

Why did most people settle in inner China

A

Inner China has better soil quality for farming than outer China, rivers flow through inner China, giving it a good water source, and the climate is good for raising crops and cattle.

The Northwestern Deserts

A

In these desert, oases are the only place to grow crops or raise animals. The taklimakag desert is 105k square miles long. The gobi desert is 500k share miles long. Vegetation is very sparse.

A

Land is full of low hills and plains. Has short warm summers, and winters are too cold and dry for crops.

The north China plain

A

Flat region of grasslands. Has a lot of yellow silt on the ground. Involves the Huang He, one of the longest rivers in China. It also is very muddy.

The Chang Jiang Basins

A

Low, wet coastal plain. The Chang Jiang is longer than the Huang He. Begins in the high mountains, and flows through plains. The climate is warm and wet. The basins are very good for growing rice, which needs warmth and moisture.
