Environmental problems

A

In Guangzhou 8/10 rainfalls are acidic. Due to a high concentration of factories and power stations.
2/3 of Guangzhou cities are affected by acid rain.
Half of the waste in Guangzhou isn’t treated before being dumped.
The Chinese white dolphin is becoming extinct.
Deforestation has led to serious erosion. Environmental Protection Beoro has classed the problem as severe.

A

Government is trying to reduce sulphur dioxide emissions by 40%.
Government has pledged $7 billion to try and clean up the area.
30 sewage works and water treatment places are being built.
